Can you help please ? I have a Philips 42PF9946/12 flat TV. Sound has gone as if mute button is permanently on. Picture is fine. Tried plugging in speaker, but no sound there either.
Look in the audio menu of the TV set, Make sure the selection on that menu is not on the headphone postion or if there is a speaker on off switch, make sure that is not turned off. Also check in the audio menu that the Stereo selection is not set to the SAP postion. If all that looks good, there is a breakdown somewhere in the audio circuit. This will require you to have a pro come in to diagnoise your problem. Good Luck and let us know what you find wrong with your TV set.
