Hitachi 55UX58BA parts and ???s

When replacing convergence IC's are the 2 part numbers to be replaced the same?

I was told on this site in late March to find a repairman that was willing to work on the TV since one repairman said he could not get the parts anymore.

I think I found one.  On the ticket the part needed was 1STL392-110.  Two of them.  He came 3 weeks ago looked at the TV and ordered the parts.  Then he was sick for a week and came yesterday to replace the parts.  Apparently a fuse blew or something and he had to get some more fuses.   He got the fuses and came back today.  Replaced everything and the picture looked almost perfect after he did a "magic focus" on the TV.  I paid him for the job which to my surprise was under $200.00 for all the parts and trips etc.  There is a 90 day guarantee also.

When he left I went to the back of the house.  When I went back up about an hour later, the lines on the side of the screen were there again.  I called him and he said he would be at the house tomorrow afternoon when I get home from school.

What do YOU think has happened?  Is there anything I should ask or do these things just sometime happen?

Well there could be a few

Well there could be a few things that could have caused this problem.  The tech might not have used the right replacement parts.  they are suppose to be STK 392-110 IC's.  Not any replacement STK IC as there are alot of cheapy type replacement IC's and this is exactly what happens when these types of ICs are used instead of the proper ones. The proper ICs are HERE Notice the cost?  Big differance in what you were charged.  Also when these IC's are replaced, the tech should put new heat sink compound on the backs of the new IC's.  Also the plus and minus B+ voltages going to the ICs need to be measured to make sure there is not excessive AC in the power supply.  Good Luck and let us know if you get your TV set fixed.
