panasonic PT-47WX49 IC AMPs

Hello, My panasoic model PT-47WX49, green convergence turned into a bow-like image. I replaced both of the IC AMPs, but the image is still the same. Is there something I could have forgotten or done wrong(other than attemping to do it myself.Laughing) Any help would be appreciated thanks.

PS. If i used too much heat sink grease, could that cause a bad conection?

One more thing, if  a resistor is blown how can I tell? thanks

you will need to get the

you will need to get the schematic or the complete service manual.  Then go to both convergence ICs and measure the plus and minus volts on them.  Most of the time it is 24 volts. Then if these sre low or bad, you will need to trace back the location where these come from and why the voltage is not reaching the proper place.  You also most likely have a feed back resistor since the other colors are ok and a resistor will not always show signs of being bad as most manufacturers use whats called flame proof resistors. The only way to check the resistors would be with an ohm meter.  They should be the feedback resistors to the green input and output of the IC. each IC controlone of the three differant colors for the convergence, as they each have three inputs as well as three output.  If you do not know how to check resistors, you will need to call in a pro to assist you with this repair.  Good luck and let us know how you make out with this repair.
