My new Zune 30GB

Foot in mouthHello!

I think I hate Bill Gates!  I have a new computer with Vista.  I can't play my I-Tunes - no music videos (I have over 200) and no movies, I can play songs.

So, I was forced into buying other devices that played video, or so I thought. I have bought Archos 504, the new 704, and I bought a Zune 30GB.

How, How, How do you put movies or music videos onto this device?  You must understand, I am going through the worst kind of I-Tunes withdrawel(spelled right?) this is driving me NUTS!

Am I so out there, am I the only person who enjoys music videos and wants to put them onto a device other than an IPOD?  I mean, I've got 2 80gb Ipods!!!  But, I can't even plug them into my new system, it will suck the entire library right out of my Ipod.

So anybody....  Anybody know how to put this kind of stuff onto a Zune?

I would really appreciate it...

Kindest Regards,

I totally hear you. Once you

I totally hear you. Once you're used to iTunes, it's difficult to make the switch. Let's knock out a few basics first.

1. Did you "purchase" the videos through iTunes? That's important for DRM reasons; Apple's DRM won't work with Zune.

2. Have you installed the special Zune software?

Hi!

Hi!

Thank you for responding, I'm sorry I have been out of town.... OK, I have officially given up on the whole I-Tunes thing!  But the Zune, I didn't know there was any software that I needed to install on it. So if you know something about that, please inform.... AND

Other than I-tunes, I've looked all over..  Where can you "Buy" and I don't have a problem paying for videos, where can you buy music videos?  Everytime I take the time to look at a website that says they have music videos, they don't or they are such weird artists, I'm not interested.  I have sooo many questions, I'll leave it at these.

Again, thanks for responding and I'm looking forward to your reply.

Hi!

Hi!

Sorry, yes all my videos and movies were all purchased through I-tunes.  A small fortune...

I hate to break the bad news

I hate to break the bad news to you, but content purchased from iTunes can only be played using iTunes on a Mac or PC, or through the iPod. The Digital Rights Management scheme used by Apple (copy protection) is proprietary to the Apple Empire. In other words, you're being punished for actually paying for content... makes you feel good doesn't it?

On software, you need the Zune software suite for PC to start moving stuff back and forth on the Zune. You can download it here: http://www.zune.net/en-us/meetzune/so...

Zune, like iTunes, is also it's own store... and there is probably music videos up for sale as well. Just be careful, content purchased through Zune will be just like the iTunes stuff... it will only play in the Zune suite on your PC or on your Zune device.

Mr. Matt Whitlock,

Again, so sorry for my tardiness.  I just started another online class and I finally talked my 75 year old mom into buying a PC.  I actually put it all together all by myself over the weekend. Laughing  Pattying myself on the back!

But, the Zune, yeah I'm getting it now, us honest people, we really get it don't we.  I mean I'm always telling my kids don't go to those websites and try and get stuff for free you never really know what you could get.  But, here I am worse off than they are.

With Zune as far as I can tell from their "marketplace," you can't  buy any music videos only songs.  I have a friend over today and she is going to try and help me figure out how you put video onto a Zune and she is also going to see about doing the same for my Archos.

I'll  let you know how it goes.  Thank you again, really I do appreciate it more than words can express.  Have a good day and great rest of the week!

acccually i have a program

acccually i have a program called tunebite and it works awsomely it copys the songs u bought on itunes and it basicly makes it so there is no protection on the songs i to made the switch from ipod to zune and zune it awsome now that they got the video stor up and running, but back to my point, tunebite also has a video copyer (if your willing to fork up the extra 20 bucks) i havnt got this yet but im sure it works fine, so you can still have itunes and just buy songs from that( or vids) and then just take the protection off of it then put it on your zune, (also google video lets u download videos for your zune or ipod)
