my problem is this: when i turn the tv on i get a very wavy picture that will get better but never go away. it's wavying horizontal. the part i dont get is when i use the pop feature is that the pop screen is great no problems. but on the main screen's pic is still wavy. it's a toshib 50' theatre wide hdtv model #50h12

I have a 50hx70 Toshiba with a similar problem. To be exact my problem is with the Blue color. It is off alignment in an arc shape from the two bottom corners of the screen.
I managed to get into the convergence menu under the service mode and tried to align the guns. I found that the Red and Green guns are fine and seem to be working well. The Blue gun on the other hand, not so well. I noticed that it will not turn OFF, whereas I can turn on/off the Red and Green guns. The real problem with the picture is clearly visible when you look at the convergence grid. The lines at the top of the screen are fine but the bottom half are all arched off their horizontal by at least 1 grid and will not move down no matter what grid position I try to push them from!
Does anyone know what causes this?
i also have 50hx70 toshiba and have the same convergence probem with the green gun off in the bottom left corner of screen, off also in a arc shape. position #7 and #8 green off up and left and #3 off slightly up.can anyone tell me what this problem is as i have been told i need new colour guns and is not worth repairing.

Tried to go in and adjust, but nothing. Can not seem to get response at all. Does anyone know exactly how to go through the adjustment process?

Forgot to add. mine is a Toshiba 50h72 model. Bottom of tv was hit by a roling soccer ball. My blue gun is all out of wack. Looks like a half moon rising bending the blue on the bottom. i tried convergence mode turning on and off the guns and I can see its the blue one which is screwed up. Is there any drastic parameter to fix this. I tried the setup mode hitting mute then menue and getting to all the parameters but Im lost Thanks for any advice..looks like Im calling a tech

Nope. I tried fixing it and made it worse until everything went dead. i attempted it because they want like 400$ just to look at it. I buying a new V tommorrow morn as there are huge sales. Just seemed to be the correct choice

I have a simualer problem.My red will not align on the right side.About 3 years old I actually looked down into the gun, I have a bug in it. Yes A bug A real insect inside the red gun ,I don't know what kind, but its ugly as sin. Had to be in it from the factory . I will not have mine repaired either. I will buy a new one . Deffineatly not a Toshiba. Jim
