tv standby/timer

I have a 36" sony trinitron that just decided to turn off on me. The tv standby/timer but is now flashing and I can't get any picture or sound out of it. Has anybody else had this problem and if so do I need to repair or is this the equivalent to sleep mode.

Hi, I have a Sony trinitron model # KV-35S45 Made in Feb.1999.. I have the same problem. No picture and No sound, can only see the flashing stand-by timer blinking. I tried changing the batteries on the remote but that didn't work. And I can't access the MENU. Can anyone help me, please.   Thanks.

Brig Check D530,R536,R537

Brig Check D530,R536,R537,also check vert. IC and check for dry joints and dry caps.

As For Angpr and Devin, Check IC601,and R607 also resolder dry joints and check  dry caps.

and for all of you you have to check how many blinks once a second there are, cause the times it blinks, gives the error code, means what's wrong with the set.

I have a 27" triniton model

I have a 27" triniton model KV-27S45 manufactured in February 1999 which has no picture and no sound.  The red led flashes 4 times in a row, is off for a short bit, and then resumes flashing 4 times in a row.

it was working fine, and my son said it just went "off".  As he was sick in his bed, I don't believe anyone actually touched anything.

Any idea what this error code means?

Four blinks - No vertical

Four blinks - No vertical Deflection (V STOP), Screen goes to a single horizontal line then the video signal muted.   Ypu will need to check the vertical sweep circuit in this TV set.  may be a sweep power supply problem, a bad vertical output IC, or a possible problem with an associate component.  most likely a repair for a pro.  good luck and please keep us informed of this repair.

I have a KV36FV15 that is

I have a KV36FV15 that is doing the same thing, picture went dead suddenly, still has sound, the light blinks about once per second, maybe slightly faster, at a constant rate (no pause). What would that mean?
