Gadget Wish List

Christmas is coming, and I have a simple question (that I actually really need to credit to Meri)...

What should be on my gadget gift list? Maybe I should be asking "what's on YOUR list?". Point is, if I were getting a new gadget this Christmas, what gadget should it be. I'll limit it to listing one, but share your wishlist with the rest of us...

I'd have to say mine is an

I'd have to say mine is an iPod ... nano, shuffle, whatever, just don't care much about the whole video thing yet (when it comes to being portable). I like small, so let's go with the Nano.

You?

Well, if I didn't already

Well, if I didn't already have one, I would want a Slingbox. But, since I've got one, I think I have to go with the PlayStation Portable (PSP). Amazing gadget that seems to keep adding more and more functionality every day.

I like to have a thin

I like to have a thin electronic home organizer with similar functionalities like a handheld organizer (birthday reminder, calendar, todo and appointment list for four members of the family and a master list, contact list, notes), but with a qwerty-compatible keyboard, a larger color display (~10 inches), wall mountable and with AC adapter jack.

Unfortunately only Simpliciti's Aurora is available (and only in US).

So I think I might have to

So I think I might have to backpaddle here. I was all about the ipod until I saw the new Sprint PPC-6700 up close. Thisthing is awesome!!!

I'm with Sprint, and my buy-a-new-phone-every-18-months-plan comes due in like 5 months, so I think it's finally time to converge my phone and PDA. Of course, y'all will be the first to know.

Also, here's an article I read

iPhone.... iPhone.... iPhone.

iPhone.... iPhone.... iPhone.... iPhone.... iPhone....

The mountains and valleys are rumbling as it approaches.

Has anything heard ANYTHING bad (or even restrained) about this new web/mp3/phone/computer?

The two biggest negatives I'm hearing are the lack of a 3G data connection (it only sports EDGE), and the fact its a closed system to third party developers. EDGE is okay for some people who don't do data intensive things, but its likely you won't see many (if any) third party apps on it. That's a real bummer.

I know a lot of people are

I know a lot of people are griping about the lack of an open programming interface, but Apple's like that with EVERYTHING they do.  You Mac either works or it doesn't; there's no digging in and changing things.  The good news is that it works way more often than it doesn't, as I'm sure will be the case with the iPhone.  But you've only *begun* to hear the whining from people wanting it opened up.  :-)
