Why would my Hitachi 57 inch rear create different sound levls at set volumes depending on program, commercials and or channels. Is it the Hitachi or could it be from the strength of the cable signal into the Hitachi?
I've heard many reasons why this happens, but I haven't been able to clear, factual answer as to the cause. Regardless, this is an issue that affects all TVs, and I'll agree that it's really irritating. If you use the TV's speakers, look for a feature called "Perfect Volume" (or something similar) in the TV's audio menu. This feature tries to average the output level by automatically adjust the volume. Features like this are not perfect, but they do tend to help a little.
Sound level variations are usually due to the amount of compression that's used on the transmitting end of the equation. Commercials get less compression which is why they suddenly seem to blast on.

My Hitachi 57 inch has been working perfectly until today. When I turned on the TV, the screen is very dark. What can I do to fix it?
