One of my kids spilled a glass of water on the TV. Are the codes shown representative of a problem within one board or is the problem more more complicated than just replacing a board? I was hoping to change out the power supply, or one of the boards. Is it that simple. When the TV is on the picture is great, but it turns on and off more than it stays on!
What you should always do if water gets spilled into a set is to unplug the TV set right away. That is key. Take off the back of the set and see if you can locate where the spill went or where is the water. If you see it on a board, very gently sop up any large amount of water, get a hair dryer and dry off the board as much as possible and then let the set sit without being used for several days or maybe even a week or so, untill all the water is evaporated and gone. if your extremly lucky, the set will work fine. I had a case that this happened and it worked fine. Now that the set is going on and of, there could be a problem anywhere in the set. could just be bad plug connection or cold solder connections on the printed circuit board due to corrosion. Very hard call at this point. If I were you I would call out a service person ASAP! to see if this puppy can be saved. I just hope it was not something sweet and sticky like pop or fruit juice. Those are a nightmare with TV sets. Good Luck and let us know how you made out twith this repair.
