If anyone has any information on the prices and installation of the deflection pcb board in a 46 inch sony hd tv please let me know. I would greatly apreciate it. Thank You!
Those boards get repaired to componet level unles it is damaged by a break or moisture. We need a model number to inform you of most things about a tV set. Sony has 1000's of deflection boards.
Please post the original problem with the set and why you think you need a deflection board. There may be simpler and less expensive "fixes" for the problem. And yes, the model number is key. Dan
Sorry about that I'm kind of new to this. The model #KP-46WT500. We had a TV service tech. come in and look at it and he was the one that said it was the deflection pcb board, and that it would cost us about $550.00 to repair it. Anything you can tell me that might help would be greatly apreciated. Thanks for your quick responses. Bryan
I just recently received this TV from a close friend of mine, so I'm not exactly sure what the original problem was,(from first hand), but what she told me was that we she turned it on it originaly went red and then I think she said it just went blank and turned black. I will check with her again tomorrow to find out exactly what it originaly did when it went out. Thanks.
OK, I spoke with my friend who gave me the TV. She said that when it first went out it had horizontal red stripes running through the picture, then one day it flashed bright red and then went black with some slight static in the sound. Now when you turn it on it flashes red, then goes black and then turns its self off. If this sounds like something other than the pbc deflection board, please let me know. Thank you for all your help...Bryan.
This problem could be a simple capacitor in the power supply or possibly bad capacitors in the sweep power supplies. Do you know how to read a schematic diagram?
I know a little about reading a schematic diagram, what do I need to look for? And is this a fairly simple thing to check? Is it also fairly simple to repair and if so how much do you think it would cost to repair? Thanks Bryan
Y ou will need a capacitor checker, and a multi-meter. You will need to know how much voltage should be at start-up in the power supply and check the shutdown circuits to see if they are activated so you will need to check the circuits that are affecting those shutdown circuits. if you do not understand these circuits, play it safe and call in a tech to assist you in this repair. A repair like this may cost anywhere from 200 bucks to 600 bucks.
I don't have those items, but my brother in-law might. He's an electrician and also works on computers and the like. He might be able to help me but he's the only person I know that would be able to. I'll ask him and see if he has those tools and if he knows what those items are. Thanks! Bryan
An electricin most likely does not have an ESR type of capacitor checker. You should concider the cost of the TV set, the age of this TV, and what it will cost to replace. good Luck.
