This 36 " tv goes into immediate shutdown at turn on. I can hear the high voltage come up then shutdown. The standby supplies are ok. Replaced vertical ic and several ecaps. Any ideas what is triggering this fault?? Thanks
Superchicken...did you ever figure out what the problem was? I've got the same exact issue with my 35" Toshiba. Sure would like to hear back from ya. Thanks,BTM
These toshiba TV sets are very famous for the STR type regulator IC to go bad and/or be intermittant. If you can read a schematic, and you understand how TV circuits operate, you can download an inexpensive service manual HERE It is downloadable and cost just under 24 bucks. Of course if you do not know how to read a service manual, play it safe and call in a pro to assist you in this repair. Good luck and let us know if you need any further instructions and how you made out with this repair.
Try re-flowing / re-soldering all your high watt resistor's. and your flyback .
