I own sony handycam model# trv260.
Everytime I try to record a video to a cd it keeps telling me to put in a blank CD-R repeatedly even though there is already a blank CD-R in the drive.

Answer:

According to Sony, the DCR-TRV260 may not recognize your CD drive when using the following programs: Picture Package Auto Video, Auto Slide, CD Backup, & VCD Maker.

If you are using one of the above programs, try using a different program to see if that helps. Even though Sony specifically mentions these, there may be other programs that give you a similar issue.

Also, support for additional drives is included in the latest version of Picture Package. For a complete drive compatibility list for version 1.2, click here. If you are not using version 1.2, it may be downloaded from their website.

Also try a search for firmware updates for your CD drive. Determine the manufacturer of your CD drive and visit their website to see if there are any updates. If you purchased a computer from a major company like Dell, Gateway, or HP, try searching their downloads section for firmware updates.
