Removing the back of the S710a

A TechLore "Ask the Experts" Question...

Question:

How do you take the back off the Sony Ericsson S710a to take the battery out?

Answer:

I ran into the same problem when I first purchased my Sony Ericsson S710a. The back plate is difficult to remove. In all honesty, it comes off the same way you would expect it to. However, it is very tight, so it requires a little elbow grease to get it off.

The best way I've found of removing it is to hold it in both hands with the back of the phone facing you. Make sure the lens of the camera is at the top, and not the other way around. Position your thumbs as shown in the picture, press down with enough pressure that your thumbs won't slip that much, and pull your thumbs back toward you. It should come off rather easily.
