Television and Home Theater

The trouble started several months ago. When my tv was on for any length of time, the color gets very orange looking. The tv repairman told me to play a dvd. the color was good. He told me it was my cable box. I returned the box and got a hd dvr box. I'm having the same problem. I took the cable from the wall and hooked it directly into my tv. the color was fine. I took the cable box and hooked it to anouther tv, the color was fine. I give up. Right now, If I watch tv through my dvd player, the color is ok. Should I have the tv or the cable guy back?

The push button on/off button stop working so I spliced a toggle switch into the circuit but now the TV is black and white not color TV. Is there something that I should do differently connecting the toggle switch or try something else?

i have treid channels 00 01 and 101 without luck..... i have had 2 universal remotes neither or which the tv/video button worked.  the only plugs i have in the back of the tv is an av outlet.... i am currently TRYING to run a super nintendo through an adaptor both of which i have tested on other tvs and they work.  ANY HELP IS APPRECIATED!!!!!!!!!!!!!
