How do you stop the spread of a crack in the glass of a 56" plasma TV?

Is it worthwhile to pay for it to be replaced?

I was checking around, trying to find if anyone else had this problem, but it seems like everyone has a TV that turns itself on and off...

The TV is an RCA, 36'' or so, I'm not totally sure.  It's a little over a year old.  The top left of it says "Entertainment Series," but it should probably say "Pile of crap don't buy me."  Regular tube projection screen, or whatever they're called, the same style of TV that's been out for years.

I got a 27" Sears TV Model 77415480 manufactured by Prima. I know that the Prima brother of this one is the Model Q2770. My problem is that, as I was told by a technigian the internal chip reset itself and I will need to get inside the menu and reprogramm it inserting all sort of numbers that of course I don't have access to. I don't have any problem doing it, but the thing is that I can't find it anywhere. Any help would be much appreciated.
