Mitsubishi ws-a48 screen fit

I have a mitsubishi ws-a48 hi-def ready tv.  I just noticed that my screen size is larger than the tv.  I have a ps3 and the scores in the corners are cut off.   Once i noticed that is payed attention and realize that it is on my hd-dtv reciever and not just the ps3.  I also tried other tv's and they work fine.  Is there a way to calibrate the size or adjust it.  It is like it is a zoom a little all the time with all inputs but it is set on standard format.

Sony Bravia 40in LCD screen lock up

Sometimes, not always, when I switch from 480i channel to a 1080i channel the screen will go blank but the sound is still on. I turn the TV off and then back on and it is fine. I am using Comcast HD box with DVR. It has done this since I got it out of the box and I have not contacted Sony yet.
