Television and Home Theater

I have an Akai LCD tv connected to cable.  The sound breaks up on 1 channel on this set but no others in house.  When this happens, an on screen display message flashes switching the audio back and forth between mono and stereo.  Surround is off.  Manually switching to mono or stereo does not stop the cutout.  Any ideas?

I have Sony KV-X2962U tv. It has developed a fault that displays all AV inputs as locked.I cannoy use these inputs. I have also noticed that when I press the MENU key the resultant display is corrupt and virtually unreadable. I can no longer find the instruction book. is there a fix for this, or is the TV doomed. Any help would be appreciated.

Have a 1.5yr old toshiba 28" CRT widescreen TV (forget actual model no.).i think its model 28yt56b Whilst watching the TV it shut itself off and went into standby mode. Nothing I could do would start it up and the TV would just not respond. Switched it off at the mains and left it for a while and i could turn the set on again but after about 3 secs it goes back off
