I have a 36 sony wega  trinitron , well it shuts it shelf off.  before it goes off the screen gets dark and fade off for  A second before it shuts off. now the tv diagnostics light blinks 7 times, worth fixing? called for a estimate $45.00 to have it look at if i drop it off, well dropping it off not a option cause of the weight of the tv. love the tv! i now the danger involved with tvs if i open it up and i can solder, could i fix it my self? thanks

Hello . I am working on a Philips projection tv with an unusual problem . I had the convergence board rebuilt (by Modislink/PTS)  and sent back and retested . The tv works fine for 5 to 10 days after swapping the new or old board with each other. All of this is making me wonder if new board is bad or something else I am missing.

I read a lot on this board about fixing the convergence issue on sony dlp.

1. I bought the kit at tvrepairkits.com, using techlore as referral.

2. I replaced the 2 IC as instructed.

3. I just put if back, tried focus flash, and also manually adjust the convergence.

4. A few of the "+" on the right are fine, but the left "+", green and pink will not line up. (blue and red lined up = pink).

5. what should i do next?

any help be appreciated.
