Television and Home Theater

I was watching the game the other night and the picture was perfect. The next morning the picture had a swooping red wave coming down from near the top left corner across to about two thirds of the screen back to the right top. The bottom of the screen also has red lines going across. Where ever the red lines appear the picture has ghosts in it. The set is about five years old. I belive it is a convergence problem. I do not know how to check the advanced convergence screen out on this set. I was wondering if there is anything that I could do before I need to call a repair person?

Ok im pretty good with soldering and repairing electrical equipment but have absolutly no experiance with what can cause problems in a projection tv.
I have owned this tv since brand new never had any problems with it untill now 4-5 years later.. But first off the color and picture has had that green hue to it for quit some time and never really cared to look for a solution till now.. but thats not the problem im worried about
