Television and Home Theater

i have the magnavox 51mp392h/17 and i just replaced both ic's and the problems didn't get any better it just changed the location of the problem on the screen. instead of the colors being more seperated on the left side of the screen now it is right in the middle of the screen. and for some reason i cant figure out how to make manual convergence in service mode. i have the downloaded manual and it says to enter that mode to press 0-6-2-5-9-6-index on the remote but my remote does not have an index button.  please help.

My 3 year old daughter thought it would be a good idea to take a pencil to our flat screen TV. It's Mitsubishi flat panel rear projection..... Please help me, my husband is very very upset with my little one at this moment. If I can fix it this, it might save my family unit

I have a phillips 50" projection tv and the screen has a red cast to it and it almost looks like the picture is melting.  It is very blurry and has a lot of red in the color.  It just started doing this.  I am not sure if I want to put money into it or not.  It is 6 yrs old.
