Television and Home Theater

I have a Panasonic Projection Tv Model PT-51HX42F and it is having convergence problems on both convergence 1 and 2. The color lines green and red will not come together. Anyone know the solution?

I have a mitsubishi vs50800 rptv.  this weekend the picture all of a sudden turned successively red, greenm then blue, witha black curtain descending down the screen from above and below.  Then the screen went black.  The sound works as usual, but no picture now.   Can anyone tell me what the likely problem is and how to fix it.  An online search didnt help much.  Called a local company and was told it was a convergence problem which would cost me somewhere between 350-500$ to get fixed.  Is that estimate realistic? Should I get it fixed?

I was repairing my tv and I accidentally ripped a ribbon cable...on it says SUMITOMO-M AWM 2896 80C VW-1 -F- It is white with 40 pins and is about 20mm wide and 120mm long...It came from a Mitsubishi WD-52525 DLP Tv...does anyone know where I can buy one of these cables?
