I have been given a philips 23pf9956/79 and the problem is that when you switch it on it becomes a 19" instead of a 23" then after 5 minutes the centre of the top part of the screen starts to quiver then a couple of second their is a 2" black line from top of screen to bottom of screen then after a few seconds lines apear running down from top to bottom of screen when i change to channel 5 which is not tuned then still get 19" screen then a couple of seconds a full screen 23" then when i change back to channel 2 still 19" picture.

this pasted friday, DEC 23rd, my tv started to make a humming noise..picture is perfect with no problems at all..i did research after research using google, found countless forums but with no exact answer, some said it would be the fan. others said would be the colour wheel but nothing definite. 

So i took everything apart.. cleaned out out the fans, didnt check the colour wheel .put everything back then i got an error on the screen reading,,,

CHECK FAN 1 2 3 (the number 2 was in red and the rest of the messege was in white)

So I picked up this TV and I get NO POWER LIGHT AT ALL. I am unable to get any trouble codes. I checked all the circuit boards for any CRT coolant and I found no signs of leakage anywhere. I also checked for any leaking capacitors and found none at all. I am suspecting a bad power supply. Has anybody come across this problem or know how to fix it?
