Television and Home Theater

A friend brought me an Electrohome 24" CRT tv new out of the box Dead On Arrival :(

Has a red power light and a slight humming but nothing from the picture tube.. the fuse is ok.. the red wire to the picture tube secured with black suction cup pulled off easily.. resecured 2 clip-like fasteners but still nothing.. any ideas about this problem would be appreciated :) BTW the one? year warranty expired and no tv repairmen left in town.. so it's up to me or to the dump :P i'm more of a PC hobbyist haha!

When I plug the projector in and attempt to power it up, the fans turn on and speed up then idle at a slower speed. The power light flashes green/red and the lamp/temp lights stay red. Took it apart and looked inside I can't see any temperature damage or anything...

Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks in advance!
