Television and Home Theater

Hello, A few weeks ago my grandfather gave me his TV and said "I am too old to fix it so it's yours if you want it" it looks like a really nice TV but its broke. 
I have been reading what I can about other TVs with the same problem but nothing about my model wd-57731.

Have a WS-50607 with short vertical and popping sound........I have replaced the caps in the vertical circuit and the caps that provide the 35v to the IC.   Any other ideas would be helpful.....

im thinking of buying a mitsubishi ws55511 off cl the guy says it needs to be reset by a service tech he says it turns on but needs to be reset by atech thecall would be 120 for the tech i was wondering if this is something that i could do at home with your help theguy wants &5 bucks for the tv and he says he will deliver is this too good to be true????? what would you guys do to fix the problem thanx iv heard great things about this board hope you can help me.
