Television and Home Theater

i'm looking to purchase a flat (lightweight) 15"-17" LCD TV/PC Monitor (it has to fit in small space when travelling). Is it better to buy a PC Monitor which has a tv tuner or get a TV which has the ability to connect to a PC? I went into an electronics store and asked this question and was told that an lcd pc monitor has a much higher resolution so would be better but i'm wondering why they are so much cheaper ($300 vs $500) than LCD tvs which will hook up to a pc?

if there's a good article on the web that explains this, I'd appreciate it also.

I have an RCA mod# p61929 big screen tv. The picture
is so dark on dark sceens that you cant make out whats going on. I plan to replace this tv around the first part of 2006 but would like any help on
troubleshooting and repair so i can keep this tv for
my master bedroom. Any help would be appreciated.

My 32" Toshiba TV Remote Sensor is not receiving a signal from the Remote Control at times. I have purchased a Universal Remote Control with the same outcome. Both Remotes Control work the other devices (VCR, DVD) O.K. This problem seems to correct itself at times and then stops working. Is there any test to see if the TV is receiving a good signal from the Remote Control?
Also is there any way to repair/replace the Remote Sensor (it looks to be on the main brd.)?
