Television and Home Theater

t.v. has no sound and the only picture that can be barely be seen is three wavey lines going across the screen and they are around 2 inches wide each one has its own color:ones red, the others are blue and the lest is green ,also they look out of focus..PLEASE HELP

I have a Mitsubishi VS-60705 with a great picture for about 30 minutes, then the picture starts to narrow horizontally & then it will start to roll with a broad band of black lines rolling with the picture. sometimes the band of lines will start at the bottom & jump up to center screen. I've had the TV repair man make 3 house calls in the past week to try & remedy this problem, & each time the picture looks great 'till he gets out of sight & then it starts acting up again. If I have to call him again I guess I'll just list him as a dependant on my taxes.

I have a new front projector (In-Focus SP5000) connected to a DVD player and an HD cable box. I use a 50ft. length of Component video cable to connect the 2 components and the picture started to display red and green horizontal bars that scroll from bottom to top. There is only one of each [red & green bars] and they're approx. 1" in thickness.
Here comes the strange part, i moved the dvd player closer to the projector to swap out the component cable for a shorter one, bars went away, reconnected the 50ft. comp.
