problem with toshibia 34hfx83

I have a toshibia 34hfx83 tv and the picture during bright sunny days is the best I have seen on a tv. The problem and I know this sound strange is that on cloudy days and at night the picture is not quite as good, the picture is darker and the color is not as good. I was wondering if anyone else had this problem.

I have a toshiba TP43H60 television. I am having a problem with the tv. On occasion throughout the day the tv will have lines that will appear on it. More like horizontal lines and it is only on the top of the screen. It happens to every channel and even if i pop in a movie i still have this problem. It seems like it is only a certain time of the day that this happens. Any ideas on how to fis it? can i possibly buy a filter to filter out the interference is so where can I?

I just purchased a Samsung DLP 50" Projection TV and I am tring to connect it to a yamaha reciever using hdmi cable's I connected my cable box to my yamaha reciever using the rca componet cables...and i am not getting any picture signal.
