the rear projection tv's are what seem to be an engineering gamble that will not fix itself. The heat inside of those cabinets are starting fires and destroying homes !! The SONY KP61XBR48 has caught fire on two occasions this year. One case in peticular was witnessed bursting into flames and fire investigators tracked the origen to the circuts inside the cabinet. Sony denied any liabilaty for the cause of the fire. I'm sorry but I'm trusting the Orange County CA Fire Investigators more than SONYS LEGAL TEAM!!!!!!!!!!!

Hello, I have a Cornea MP703 LCD that recently quit working. You can hold a light up to it and see that it's still showing a picture, but the back light is not working.

Would it be a safe bet that the backlight inverter board is toast? Is there anyway to test it? Is it possible for the lights themselves to go out? I saw that I can get the inverter board on ebay for $70. Is that a good price?
