mitsubishi ws55613 wavy lines

Hello,

I have a 2004 mitsubishi ws55613 that has deloped a wavy line problem.  Following Larry dillons advice I was able to fix the blinking green light of death problem last year and am hoping he(or someone) can help with this.  I believe it is the 9v regulator in the IC9C25 location.  it looks a little discolored, however I am not sure how to check this with an ohm meter.  Any help would be apprecieated.  Larry if your still around you saved me once can you do it again?  Another thing I have read about is the convergence chips and the 5 amp pico fuses, checked the fuses and they are ok, not sure how to check the convergence chips either.

thanks in advance Mike.

p.s. I know this is an old TV and not worth putting any money into (which is why I wont pay a repair service to fix it)   but I kind of like the challenge of fixing this kind of stuff.  And even if I get it fixed I probably wont tell the wife so I can go and finally get a new LCD.

I have the Mits 55613. I fixed the GBLOD issue about 2 years ago and is still working thanks to Larry's help. I was sorry to hear that he lost his battle.

My TV now has a new issue. It won't stay in one format. It will switch from one format to another and back again on its own. I couln't find a thread on this issue so I'm hoping this is the right place to post. Help.

Could be stray signals if you

Could be stray signals if you use a cable box to turn the channels you could try disconnecting the tact switch board on the front of the tv,make sure you disconnect the infrared sensor.

Not sure what the tact Switch

Not sure what the tact Switch board is. We have Direct TV HD reciever. I have it hooked up to another TV that we are using now its working fine on this TV.

The tact switch's are all the

The tact switch's are all the buttons on the front of the set. You will need to remove the front bottom cover and disconnect it from the tv.

Once its turned on,then

Once its turned on,then disconnected it will untill you need to turn it off, you said it does it continuously this would determine if its the tact switch or infrared sensor recieving signal,if it doesnt do it while the tv is on and the tact switch is disconnected.

So far so good. I turned the TV on and then disconnacted the Tact switch. It is not switching formats. I will leave it on for a while to make sure.

If it is the Tact switch would I need to replace the whole board or can it be repaired. If the whole switch is bad where could I get one?
Thank you again for your help.

How many sets of wires did

How many sets of wires did you have to disconnect from the tact switch to disconnect it? If it was more than one, plug them in one by one and see if the problem recurres, then figure out which one is causing the problem the tact switches or the IR sensor. If its the tact switch they can be replaced one at a time or left unpluged and u will still be able to turn on the tv and use the IR to do volume and what not. If its the IR theres not much you can do about it execpt figure out what is causing the stray signals, could be a sticky button on a remote or the neibors garage door opener, one thing you can do is leave it unplugged and use the tact swithes to turn the power on and off or leave the IR plugged in but put a piece of tape over it.

Sorry it took so long to get back, I also have a car problem going on and my brother inlaw came by to look at it.(Bad fuel injector) Anyway I only unplugged the large connector I believe was the tact switch. I did plug it back in and it still is working ok. Your suggestion about the remote might be right. In the mean time I was talking with my Dad he also mentioned the remote and that if the batteries are weak it might be causing it to go whacky sending out the signals you talked about. I took the batteries out all toghether and will continue to use it. So far so good. Thank you for the advice.
