I have read the many threads on the blinking light issue on these sets and the information has been very useful. I actually have 2 different models both plagued with blinking lights. I actually got an error code of 34 on my wd 52525 which turned out to be lamp abnormality after installing a new bulb. Since the bulb is new my next step was checking for blown caps. One post I read about this same issue pointed to 2 particular caps for the lamp, C9a37 and 38 so that was my starting point. I guess this chassis model (V26) is a bit different than the model used in the procedure of this repair. As I started to disassemble the cage to expose the boards I found 8 total blown caps, (6) 1000uf and (2) 3300uf. Soldering and replacing the capicators was the easy part. Taking this thing apart and unhooking everything just to be able to work on it was the worst. OMG, all of the screws that had to come out. There must have been 200 of them and I will never get them all put back right so I will end up with a ton of extra screws. I don't even know if I managed to fix this thing because I'm having trouble getting it all together. I have a service manual and it has helped some but after taking this apart it just not fitting together like it did. The letter coding on the wires was awesome so I got everything hooked back up, except one. On the middle board there are 3 ribbon connectors and 3 pluggs. I'm missing the PA wire just behind the small board in the back and can't seem to find what would be the other end. The wire for this connection has to be coming from the other section in the chassis because all of my other wires are connected to boards. The service manual doesnt have an actual diagram which I'm guessing is because letter codeing on wires and boards. It anyone can tell me where to look for this thing I would greatly appreciate it.
I also have a wd 65734 which also has the blinking light issue. This one has been a bit confusing because the chassis (V37) is so much different than ones used in the DM repair. The main board is in a metal cage/box with the power board above it. I didn't see any swollen caps in this area but I replaced all except the three 820uf's on the power board. Even after that I still get the constant blinking light so that could be the DM needs to be replaced? If that's the case, where is it in this model. Has it been combined with another board or what? How do I fix this one?
This forum has been a tremendous help, thanks everyone!!
Ohh..forgot to mention something. When I try to get an error code on the 65" it will only give me a 12 which according to the manual is nothing but obviously not in my case.
