Ever since I reset my Mitsubishi WS55613 with a paper clip, when I now turn it on?the green light blinks for about a minute before it powers up. ?There aren't any other problems with the set.
I am going to replace the caps and 9v regulator as suggested by this forum, but I was wondering if anyone else has this same problem and if there is a fix.
Maybe a software update? ?Will Mitsubishi still send me a software update for this model?
I have a similar issue with the same set. Dead in the morning but at night if I unplug then in the morning plug in let it boot ( flash for a min. or so) push power button works fine. A year ago I did replace caps in the DM. Going out again?
I'm embarrassed to say that after I read the manual, I realized that when the set is in 'low mode" to conserve power, it always will boot up (as shown by the green light blinking) for about a minute before it turns on.
This was what was happening with my set.
However, I did have several real problems with rolling lines and the set going to black after it had been on for awhile. I solved these problems completely by replacing the four caps and the 9 volt regulator as shown by the instructions on this site.
I also cleaned the lenses, screen and mirror (by following the instructions in the manual as to how to remove the screen) and now my set works perfectly.
My compliments to the guys who took the time to write out the repair procedures.
Me too. I searched further as well and had it in low power mode. I was almost ready to do a DM cap replacement again. Thank you all for this sight.
I do mess with these things. When I replaced the stk's in my Sony I said that was easy. Now I have fixed and placed in needy homes about 30 big TVs with repairs from simple STK replacements on many sets, DM repair, and hypercard cap replacement. I have only had to recycle 2 for leaky tubes.
It is a shame to put a couple hundred pounds in the wast stream when a couple of bucks and a couple hours of work returns these beautiful sets to working order.
It is nice to see the faces when I install a nice big TV to a single mother with a couple teenage boys. That was given for dead a couple days before.
I use this sight a lot. I am not a pro in the least just a retired machinist with a silly hobby.
