Hi everyone, hope there is someone who can help me out...Our Sony was having ghosting/double image problems. We replaced the two STK convergence chips. That took care of the ghosting issues but we now have very thin horizontal lines running up and down the whole screen. I think they are stationary but at other times look like they may be moving a little?I can't tell anymore, it starts blurring my eyes out when I'm staring at it too long. LOL! One person I discussed this with told me to cover the lenses with a towel to check each one to see if the lines might be originating from one of the lenses(which means that one is going out?) He said that if they all do it than it is a loose wire somewhere. All three colors do it so I assume I have a loose wire? Any idea where or what wire it could be? One more note, when we replaced the STK chips,we didn't replace the pico fuses that came with the kit because they were 3.5 and 5 amps, the ones in our tv are 2 amps, weren't sure if they were compatible? Although the guy told me that bad pico fuses would not be giving me the horizontal line issue. I've already done a manual convergence with the cross hatch, checked the focus knobs in front behind the speaker screen and my self check gives me the following:
2: +B OCP 000
3: +B OVP 000
4: V stop 000
5: AKB 000
6: H stop 000
7: HV 000
8: Audio 000
101: WDT 000
Could you tell me what these mean???I would appreciate any feedback on this problem...I don't know what else to try.
Thanks!
Suzette
Check the Red HV and focus leads at the HV/focus block. The self locking clip mechanism can get loosened and the end of the lead is not making a tight electrical connection to the HV block. Outer rubber sleeve still holds the wire in place, but possibly loose or un-clipped. .
Of course turn off power and unplug the TV first. HV lead plugs can come loose from pulling the board out and handling. If they are loose, just push back in and twist slightly to the right for re-connection.
Check all the other plugs that you removed and re-connected. Make sure they are all snug.
