I own a sony KDF-E55A20 DLP TV that has a strange problem. I turned it on one day and green straight vertical lines abou 1/2" wide appeared all across the screen. I called Sony, and they told me to unplug the set for about a minute in order to reset the TV. The problem still remains. I opened the back and after some initial testing, found if I turn on the set and wait until the green lines appear, then unplug the LVDS connector- ( the plug with the group of blue wires that runs from the B1 board to the optical block ) and reconnect it, the TV plays perfectly. If I turn off the TV and wait until the cooling fans stop then turn it back on, the problem returns. However if I turn the TV back on while the cooling fans are still running, the picture is fine. I have checked all the connections. I am wondering if there may be an issue with the 5v standby feed or the timer circuit for the cooling fans. I have the service manual but can't seem to find the common denominator between the cooling fan circuit and the B1 board/ optical block. The other thing I did notice is the red standby light that is present when the TV is off does not light anymore. I have pulled up the diagnostic screen but there is no problems present. I would like to fix this on my own and have repaired electronics in the past. Any help is appreciated. Thanks
