How someone can help me. I replaced my lamp in my Sony LCD projection tv (kf-42e200a) and now get an orange tint across the top of my screen, going down 3/4 inch. Rang up a tv repairman and he said it was the television and quoted $500 to repair but I suspect the lamp(which cost me $475) Did not have the tint before replacing the lamp. Has anyone had similar problem?
have seen optics that need cleaning cause this,have not seen a lamp cause this problem, maybe? The lamp for this sony lists for $199, WOW! good luck.
Yes, I noticed the cheaper prices for the lamp but I bought it with the housing hoping to avoid problems. Got an over the phone quote of over $500 to repair the tv and when I queried this he told me to contact the next nearest Sony serviceman, which was in Traralgon, and he quoted $3500 so I suspect the first may have contacted the second. My 16 month old #1200 tv which I bought new will have to live with the tint.
