Sony KP-57WS500 convergence - unable to access PJE category in service adjustment mode.

 Hello Everyone,

After reading many posts in the forums I attempted to repair a connvergence problem on a five year old Sony rear projection KP-57WS500. Prior to the repair I tried using the flash focus on the front panel, but the screen just went blank for a second and returned with the problem. So I obtained the service manual, ordered two STk392-560 ICs from Sony and replaced them without completely removing the D board. Also verified that no adjacent pins on the ICs were shorted.

Upon powering up the TV, the problem still looked the same and I noticed that the heat sinks attached to the ICs were cool and remained that way. I checked for power and the ICs had the +22v and -22V at the relevant pins. The pico fuses and resistors on the D board checked out ok also. At this point I tried to access the PJE category in service mode but it was missing. When scrolling the category list in service mode I can see all categories that are listed in the service manual except PJE. At the location for the PJE category in the list the screen just displays a blank screen, but I can continue scrolling up or down past the PJE location just fine.

From the schematics, I'm guessing the AD board could be a possible cause. Any ideas for a solution? Your input is appreciated.
