I got help here two years ago, so I'm hoping I will get it again.
I'm running a Sony KV27EXR10 television, running it from my VCR's tuner since the Sony tuner hasn't worked well since 2006. About a year ago, the set wouldn't turn on. I unplugged it, replugged it a while later, and it worked. The same thing happened today. I unplugged it for several hours, replugged it, and heard the sound it usually makes when it comes on, a loud click/solenoid type sound, but saw/heard nothing else. I get nothing when I use the remote (I have several, doesn't matter which I use) but get that same turn on click sound when I push the power button on the set, yet still see/hear nothing.
Here's a little side info. A few months ago, I bought a refurb. Sony remote that let me set a single button to turn on both my VCR and my TV at once. That always turned on the VCR but although I'd hear the sound of the TV going on, it wouldn't go on. I'd have to hit the separate TV power on button to turn it on. The combined button would turn the VCR and TV off together later. Maybe no relevant at all, and maybe yes.
Anyone have any suggestions? The set weighs a ton, so if I have to move it at all, it will go in the garbage.
