While watching the TV yesterday it sudddenly had horizontal lines flickr across the screen and then shutdown. Turned the set back on and a few minutes later the samething happened. Did a search on the internet and found out how to do a diagnostic test. The code I am receiving is 23 and ideas what can be causing this problems?
23 is horizonal deflection. probably flyback transformer or horizonal deflection transistor. i usaully change both
I have a service manual, found the Flyback on it. Need to locate the transistor you recommended onthe circuit board. Do you have a ref. or part number I can lookup to find it on the circuit board? do you have a recommended source for parts? Also I assume this needs to be discahrged and recommendations on how to perform this.
to discharge put a wire on the end oof a srewdriver and connect the other end to ground on the tv. stick the end of the srewdriver in to the red thick wire coming out of the flyback. it will probably do nothing but its to be safe. . the transistor should be very close to the flyback and start with a Q it will also have a silver heatsink attached to it and on the legs connecting it will have letter written on board an d ,g,s . i reccomed river valley electronic. or suburban electronics..a solder sucker works best on removinh the flyback connection and a soldering iron thats 30 watts.dont hold the soldering ironto long on the transistor cause ucan raise the etch onthe board. u will also need to get sum heatsink compound when u replace the transistor. good luck
