Sony KP-57WS500 replaced IC's still problems.

To start I must say that I am not a panic poster and I have spent the last few days digging in this site and everywhere else on the inter-tubes to point me in the right direction. I am hoping someone like Larry will be able to help me out.

Got this TV from a co-worker that gave it to me for FREE!!! nice. But the red was out of allignment. After some reading I found that the pico 3.15a fuse was blown (PN:1-533-595-31) seeing as I am stupid I replaced it with a Buss glass 3a fast blow fuse to test it out, and the color looked great, then the smoke came out of the 5 4.7ohm resistors (R8045,R8051,R8059,R8063,R8066). DOH!!! So I found two new STK 392-56's and put them in. With a new 3a pico and resistors (could only find 1w 1% 4.7 but that should not matter?)

So I turn the tv on and its worse than before. Now I have the screen looking like someone is pushing in on the center and you are entering a time warp. the red and green are not perfectly horizontal and none of the colors line up. If I do the flash focus the red and green lineup on the cross quite well but the blue is off to the left a little.

The only service manual I could find is the for the KP51,57,65WS510. I dont know if this is the right one or not.

The Error I get if I use the (Display,5,-vol,pwr) is AKB=1 all the rest are 0.

I do know my way around electronics and my meter. I am a Refrigeration Mechanic that does allot of controls work.

can anyone tell me if this is

can anyone tell me if this is fixable? I have a pro coming on wed to look at it. But for the next few days I am stressing it a bit. Is it common that once the IC's are changed it needs to be adjusted. Is the "pin cushion" effect cause for concern?

if you used the Wrong Service

if you used the Wrong Service Manual and got into the service Mode and started messing with the parameters and pressed the wrong button on remote You could have ERASED the convergence Data in the Eprom

IF TV was Free You Should

IF TV was Free You Should have spent the $300 and got a New D Board From sony

the only thing I did in the

the only thing I did in the service menu was reset to factory. that was it. would that have erased the Eprom?
