My father's Mitsubishi W-55615 rear projection 55" TV's power supply failed, so I had to pay for the local Mitsubishi approved dealer to fix it. When the repair guy returned it, we noticed that my dad did NOT have component cables hooked up - so he'd never seen High-Def on this TV contrary to what he thinks (sounds like a placebo-type situation).
Now, when I select component cables the picture is definately high-definition, but he has one complaint: the far left and far right sides of the screen are a bit blurry. The picture in the middle of the screen (which comprises 85% of the viewing area) - is perfect! It is just those damn edges that are no good. Also, when there are straight lines you can notice a downward bending towards the left and the right.
I've switched to his low-def cables and the edges are not blurry and the lines do not bend . It is only when I am watching with the Component on high-def.
What could be causing this? Can I fix it ?
