I've just bought a Philips (42PFP5532D/05) 42' Plasma TV. I've set it up, switched it on, and not a lot else is happening, the tv just doesn't seem to be responding. I can change the volume and the screen format, but I can't do anything else with it. I've got my sky box connected to it, and I press the AV button on the remote to switch to the scart imput, but nothing is happening, except I'm getting a little x in the top left-hand corner. It's obviously recieving the command but it's not doing anything about it. I thought maybe it's locked by a password or something, so I found out the code for phillips, and tried to enter it, but it's not even bringing up a menu screen or anything for me to enter it.

Have you tried hooking something else up like a DVD player to another input and see it that works?
Actually I've got it working now, the problem was is that the tv has a freeview box built in, and we didn't connect the ariel, once the ariel was connected the tv works, it's as if it needed information from that connection first. Wierd, but at least it works now. Thanks for the suggestion anyway MOtvGuy. Maybe I should tell philips to stress the importance of connecting the ariel inthe manual from now on.
