Sony TV cable hook up

I recently moved my Larger Sony tv downstairs to the basement, wheere I have another tv that worked fine.  When I plug the calbe directly into the back of the tv I get nothing.  I'm able to hook up and use my dvd player and vcr with out problems.  Do I need to program something with the remote?  Again I can plug my other TV in that cable line with good results.  This Larger tv worked fine up stairs.  Any help would be great,  Thanks,

Ryan

A few things to check:

A few things to check:

Some Sony TVs had two coaxial inputs... usually one is called MAIN and another one labled something else. Make sure you're plugged into Main (if their labled something else, post what they're marked as and I'll tell you which to use).

On the remote their should be a button to switch between the two tuners. If memory serves correctly, look for a button labled ANT/AUX. Give it a press and you should be good.

I was running my new sony

I was running my new sony digital tv off an antenna until i installed a cable line upstairs. When I did connect it i get only channels 2 thru 13. Other cable stations are not working. I installed a signal splitter downstairs and the tv the other line is connected to works fine.

I think I have an issue with how i connected the line to the new tv, but it appears there is only one place to screw in the cable line. there are multiple jack receptors on the back of the tv, should i be doing something to get connected that way, or is the issue with remote settings? Any advice?
