Denon Home Theater System

I am thinking about purchasing a denon home theater system. I have read a lot of good things about them on different websites. The products always had good reviews on home theater sites.

I would be especially interested in this model.

I just wanted to ask if any of you has experiences with Denon and if their products are really as good as the reviews say?

Hope that someone can help me,

Paul

Hi Paul,

Hi Paul,

I will attest that I've owned and used several Denon products, and they do typically make good stuff that every home theater enthusiast should consider for their systems.

In the case of the DHT-FS3, I would be cautious and listen to it before making any final decisions. Simulated surround systems don't always perform well depending on room size and shape, where walls are placed, reflective/non-reflective surfaces, etc. I typically steer away from recommending products like this and similar products like the Bose 3-2-1 and Yamaha's Sound Projector. I often don't think these products perform well enough to justify the high price.

Are you in a situation where you can't use multiple speakers? Any other reasons that you're drawn to this product?

 Hi Paul

I agree with Matt. while the Denon system sounds great it is very subjective to the space you are putting it in. If however you are looking for an HTIB some things to look for. A lot of the HTIB's on the market have proprietary speaker connections meaning you have to use their plug and speaker system. I would reccoment looking at one that has speaker posts so later on if you want to upgrade your speakers for sound quality you are not stuck to what is included in the system. You can also use better quality speaker wire than what generallycomes in the box this way. Also look for the type of sound the system puts out . Some home theaters dont use lets say Dolby 5.1 but have a generic simulated version.
