Hi - I've just been given a Home Cinema System Philips DVD580HC - surround sound 5.1...I've managed to set it up to work OK when watching a DVD & have set it through my BT Vision box so I can listen to "normal" TV HOWEVER because I have to have the DVD on to provide the sound to surround speakers the DVD "times out" after 10mins & goes onto standby leaving me with picture No sound !!! Does anyone know of away to over ride this?? PLEASE
Have you checked the DVD player setup menu (probably in the advanced area) for an option to disable the automatic power off/power saving features? Did you see any such option in the menu?
Hi Matt - Thanks for the post - I've checked the set-up menu & unfortunately theres no option for advanced at all - I'm sure it must be possible in the manual it states that you can attach another device ie mp3 player so surely the same would happen to that?
Just incase I've set it up wrong the only audio wires are from the BT Vision Box to the back of the DVD? Theres nothing going into the sub-woofer apart from the speaker wires & the connect from the DVD player.
Thanks again Tracy
