Using UK Philips LCD TV in Italy

I purchased a Philips 32inch LCD HD ready TV a year ago in UK - I'm going to live in Italy, does anyone know if it will work there? I can fix the 240v to 110v problem, unless anyone would like to recommend a good transformer.

Thank you. Tim

I now know the voltage is ok! Just need to figure out the reception/whatever is the technical aspect of that? TJ

Tim, I looked up the TV

Tim, I looked up the TV standards for the UK, as well as for Italy, and both counties use the PAL standard for the reception or receiving signal. so you should be OK there.  You will probably need to do a channel setup, but that's no big deal.  Check with the owners manual for the TV set, as some TV sets are multi-voltages and some sets are not. If you can fix the problem of changing the voltage without the use of a step-up transformer, go for it. A transformer will use a little more juice to bring up the 110 to 22o volts.  If you do not have the owners manual, go to Philips UK website and download a copy for yourself, as you will need it after you move. Good Luck with the move, and I hope all goes well for you.  Be sure to let us know how everything work out for you.

Larry - many thanks for your

Larry - many thanks for your efforts and info. My builder told me yesterday that I had 220v installed anyway, so that turned out not to be a problem. I will post to the forum any issues and resolutions on my tech equipment for anyone else. Thanks again
