This JVC television is only three years old. The picture is really dark. I have adjusted it as far as it can go for brightening the picture and nothing helps. Is this something that can be repaired?
If you open the back of the set very carefully, you will see a large red wire, That is the high voltage wire STAY away from that!. Now that we have that out of the way, where the large red wire connects to on the printed circuit board is called the flyback transformer. On one of the sides of the flyback transformer are two small controls, one will say screen or G2 and the other will say focus. With the set on, advance the screen or the G2 control up clockwise till you start seeing tiny white lines in the picture, then turn back the control till the small white lines go away. You may also want to tweek the focus by rocking the focus control back and forth till the picture looks its best. Good Luck with this and please be very careful and let us know how you make out with this TV set.
