I have a sony 61" xbr rear projection tv that the blue is out of alignment. When I run the autofocus then crosses don't align and after a minute E14B comes on the screen. Can anyone tell me what I need to do to get it back in alignment with the red and green lamps. The blue also sort of bends at the top and bottom of the screen but on the mirror in the back the blue is one straight it just is out of alignment with the grenn and red. Anyone know how to fix?
There are two IC's in this TV set that needs to be replaced. This is a typical problem that happens with almost every tube type projection TV set ever made. You should not attempt this repair with this TV set unless you are aware of the high voltage safety issues involved. If you do, this will take some good unsoldering and soldering skills. If you leave a model number and don't make me guess, I might have a service manual I can share with you, BUT this manual will not tell you how or what to change, you will need to know how to read a schematic and know how to use the service manual for the final touch up convergence alighnments. If you have no electronic experience, play it safe and call in a pro to assist you in this repair. If you do know how to use a service manual as well as a schematic diagram, and know how to work on printed circuit boards, leave your e-mail address and I will be more then happy to share a copy with you,IF I have a copy of it as I do not have a model number yet. Good luck
Hi Larry,
Thanks for the info. The model num is KP-61XBR200 but I think it may be time to call a service man as I'm not aware of the high voltage as you stated. Do you know about how much this repair will cost. A ballpark guess would be nice to know. Also is there a dependable parts supplier you recomend.
This repair typicly cost anywhere from 250 to 400 bucks.
Ok, thanks alot you've been very helpful.
