I couldn't find any direct answer for that same like question, but I did find that for a Sony TV to be turning of by itself and leaving a three blink code means that the power supply is going out or is completely out.
had the same problem for 2 years. found out the board for the tv vontrols was bad. try to unplug the power wire to the board for the power and volume and such , the red light will go out but the tv will stay on. worked for me.
