Hey all,
It is a Realsy's 17" tv that has worked perfectly for 2 years. Now in th last few weeks it has started randomly flicking through the channels. It stays on one for not much over 2/3 minutes then starts again. Any ideas guys is this repairable or common??
Andy
I am not sure if it is a common problem, but when this starts to changer channels take the batteries out of the remote to see if that helps, If it does a button is stuck or is shorting out inside the remote hand unit. If that des not help check to see if any of the front panel buttons on the tV set look like they are pushed in and sticking. If that all looks good I am afraid that you have a remote sensor problem or a microprocessor problem. Good Luck and let us know what you find with this TV.
Nothing physical I can see as it still changes when batteries are taken out of remote not buttons pushed in. Intrestingly the buttons on the top work rarely now since this, none are pressed in as they are just shallow one touch buttons you get on these sets. If it is the micro processor is this costly and am I better off getting a whole new set!

On a 17" TV set I bet it would be less expensive to replace it then to repair it.
I can find an equivelant tv for £130 - 150 shall I hold out for some more ideas on this or do you think I should quit on this one...

Sure why not, MOtvGUY may have an answer to this?
Unless some fluid has somehow gotten into the keypad assy and is creating an intermittant problem I'm afraid whatever they use for a main board in that brand (sounds like a foreign model) is probably bad. Close to a repair cost exceed value deal there.
