Intec Universal HDMI System Selector

This is being offered by gaming stores. Seems like a great idea. does anyone have a sense of wether this looks like a fair price. It seems fairly packed with features and connectivity. It has a remote. And comes with all the cables you would need (except maybe the optical audio cable). i tried including a link, but apparently I'm not bright enough to make it work in this forum. I don't know why i can't seem to paste the link here. but if you google the subject line you should get to the product. Thanks.

Hi John,

Hi John,

If you're using Firefox or IE, all you need to do to add a link is copy and paste the full URL into the box. The site will automatically make it a link when you press go.

I haven't had a chance to play with the Intec HDMI selector, but I did purchase (and quickly return) their component video switch designed to fit under an XBOX 360 (http://www.inteclink.com/inteclink/pr... ) It was a terrible product that didn't work as claimed. It handled composite and S-video signals okay, but didn't manage to pass component signals without seriously messing up the image.

Now I will say, their HDMI option does "look" nicer than switch I tried, though keep in mind it only sports 2 HDMI inputs, and only 4 component and optical... not 5 as the description may lead you to believe. Why Intec just doesn't offer the same number and type of inputs for each source I'll never know, but that's the way it is.

Since my last experience with an Intec product wasn't promising, I will say that 80 bucks is very reasonable if it actually works. I encourage you to try, just make sure you buy it from a local retailer that will take it back if it doesn't work the way you want. Set it up immediately, and try it out with DVDs, games, and other sources (analog and HD) as soon as possible. I'd love to know how it works, so please post back with your experience using this product.

If you don't need the HDMI connections, I eventually settled on the Psyclone 4 Port Component video switch: http://www.psyclonecables.com/product.... It works very well, and I'm quite pleased with it (It switches composite, S-Vid, component, optical, and network on all ports). They also make a 4 port HDMI switch (http://www.psyclonecables.com/product...), but it's HDMI and audio only, no analog inputs.

Thanks dude. I will take a look at the psyclone products. As far as the copying/pasting of links issue; I think it was driver error. When a window popped up to ask about clipboard access for the site, I didn't read it so much as gutt reaction my mouse click to saying no to any question with the word 'access' in it. I read the next time and grocked that all the site was wanting was access to my copied link waiting in my clipboard. Duh. I obviously have my protection software on really high. Thanks again.
