Problem:
When viewing the screen will go blank but still have sound. The green power is still on. I can turn off & on the TV, the picture comes back. This can happen at any time interval. It almost seems random. Might happen in 1 minute or 1 hour or not at all.
More annoying then anything.
I got this TV from a friend. I know it had been in the shop at some point (maybe the transformer not sure why).
Any ideas what the cause is?

This set is the CRT type so almost anything in the sweep power supply or the high voltage transformer could have a bad highvoltage rectifier. Could be bad connection on the CRT board or bas connections on the CRT socket. Hard call without looking at the TV set.
Thanks Larry. Not really worth taking to get repaired being it was only $25 dollars.
I wonder how hard would it be to take apart the set? Bad connections seem like something I may be able to fix. Probably would be getting in over my head though & end up with a broken TV.
Not only will you possible be getting into something over your head, you could also possible harm yourself seriously, as there is alot of high voltage inside these TV sets even after theyv are unplugged for a while.
